Day ten started in LA — Newport, Orange County, beaches, a long lunch we didn't time. Then San Diego, and home.
We unpacked. We laid every piece of clothing we'd brought on the floor in two rows. Three different brands of polos. Two different brands of shorts. Two pairs of shoes that didn't go with anything. A rain shell that didn't go with the polo that didn't go with the shorts.
The whole trip we'd been trying to document this on social. The aesthetic was the point of going. And our gear was sabotaging every photo. Bright colors. Loud logos. Nothing talking to anything else. We didn't have a brand. We had a salvage yard.
That's when we knew.
